Today's rest and relax programme for WA Scouts was an awesome one...A chance to ride Singapore's MRT system from Pasir Ris Station to Bugis MRT Station offer the Scouts an insight of the Singapore's dwelling estates. From the first station of sitting comfortably to the place of destination, they went through the local rush hours and getting a taste of camouflaging themselves in crowded trains. At Bugis, they navigated their way to our "checkpoint" - that was the famous Goddess Of Mercy - Kwan Inn Chinese Temple. They were unable to find the temple and decided to call me. We met up and explore Waterloo & Albert Street Mall. We got to visit both the Chinese and Hindu temples. At the nearby Sim Lim Square which offered a wide range of electronics and IT products..we combed every part of the building just to get the best deals. On the other end, some of them navigated their way to Bugis Street where fashion apparels, handphones, costume jewellery, food and snacks..all in one..for shopping.

We spend 3 hours in Bugis Area, before deciding to depart for some fun at Snow City located at West part of singapore.....I am sure they had a great time at Snow City, having seen the live-shots of the photographs taken in the Snow Chamber. Just next door, we took time to visit Science Centre. I overheard Vern saying that he had never come across such a informative Science centre. As we approached 6pm, we decided to call it a day and again .."joining the rush hours" crowd for the train ride from West to East.. ..

New-found African friends

Visit to Newater Plant

Sharing Their Thoughts @ Changi Chapel Museum

Singapore Day 6 - We arrived at Changi Chapel Museum at 9.15am for a visit to this special place. Located within Singapore's only Changi Prison complex, the Prison had been used during the Japanese Occupation (WWII) for British and Australian POWs. Our fellow scouts got to learn about Singapore's Wartime history and appreciated the sacrifices made by soldiers who fought the war. A Visit to Newater Plant which used advanced membrance technology, offer an insight of Singapore's fight for water survival. The afternoon spent at Sentosa Island where we got to explore more recreational fun. All of us would agreed that the Sentosa - Songs Of The Sea offers a good end to our day's programme.

Getting The Clue... right..

Day 5 0930hrs - I arrived Costa Sands with my mini-laptop and offer a viewing of the blog latest updates. Sure!..that parents will miss their loved ones ...and I am sure that our fellow WA Scouts will also miss home..Well..we were left with 3 more days...This morning the Scouts had an opportunity to viist Singapore City Gallery on a special request arrangement. The City Gallery was the Hub for Singapore's city planners to chart out Master Plan for the country. They were fascinated on the exhibits of mini models..laid on a big platform of 5m width. Scouts had the opportunity to know more about Singapore and answer questions about its development.
We left City Gallery and walked down to Chinatown..a unique showcase of Singapore's Chinese Cultural Experiences. A MRT Ride experiences from Chinatown to Clark Quay where we had a River Cruise along Singapore river. After the cruise despite the slight dizzlem we managed to contniue our trip down to Little India. It's Mustafa Centre shopping time for the Scouts where they will hunt for the best deals and offer...By 1930hrs, we left Little iIndiaon chartered bus and headed down to Downtown East for our dinner..After dinner, we took a stroll down to our Resorts which was about 10 mins away. As I signed off for the day. Vern and Sheridan had a debrief with the Scouts..Another day...another programme..
